🔐 SECURITY BY DESIGN: BUILDING TRUST INTO DECENTRALIZED AI
BTTInferGrid takes an important approach to decentralized compute: don’t assume every participant is honest.
Instead, the system is designed around four principles:
1️⃣ Adversarial assumptions — expect untrusted workers, inconsistent execution, and economic attacks.
2️⃣ Redundancy over trust — use independent verification paths instead of relying on a single worker.
3️⃣ Incentive alignment — make honest participation more rewarding while making dishonest behavior costly.
4️⃣ Progressive verifiability — match verification strength to the level of assurance a computation requires.
Together, the model becomes:
Assume adversaries → Add redundancy → Align incentives → Strengthen verification
That’s an important foundation for decentralized AI. The goal isn’t to eliminate trust overnight, but to progressively reduce how much of it the system requires.
Security works best when it is designed into the protocol from the beginning.
