P2P trading is a convenient way to buy and sell crypto using local payment methods. But convenience can also make traders careless. In my opinion, the biggest P2P risks often come from rushing, skipping verification, or following instructions from the other party without checking them carefully.
1ïžâŁ Verify before trading
Before accepting an order, check the counterpartyâs completion rate, feedback, trading history, payment method, and trading terms. Donât choose an offer only because the price looks attractive.
2ïžâŁ Keep communication inside the platform
Avoid moving conversations to Telegram, WhatsApp, Zalo, or other external channels. Keeping communication within the P2P platform creates a clear record and helps protect both sides if a dispute occurs.
3ïžâŁ Pay only to the account shown in the order
Always compare the recipientâs information with the original order before making a payment. If someone suddenly provides different payment details, stop and verify first.
4ïžâŁ Never rely on screenshots
If you are selling crypto, a payment screenshot is not proof that you have received the money. Always check your own bank account or payment account and confirm that the funds have actually arrived before releasing your crypto.
5ïžâŁ Be careful with cancellation requests
If someone asks you to cancel an order after payment has already been made, donât rush. Keep the evidence and use the appropriate appeal/support process instead of moving the transaction outside the platform.
6ïžâŁ Protect your account
Never share your password, OTP, 2FA codes, SMS verification codes, or other sensitive information. Anyone asking for these details should be treated with extreme caution.
đĄïž A simple rule to remember:
VERIFY â PAY â CONFIRM â RELEASE
A few extra seconds of checking can prevent a major mistake. P2P isnât about completing transactions as quickly as possible â itâs about completing them safely and correctly.
