$Hong Kong police arrested 147 people during a two-day operation on August 7 and 8, targeting a money laundering network linked to nearly HK$600 million.
Police said the group used multiple bank accounts to split and move funds repeatedly, making it harder to trace where the money came from.
Some people were reportedly paid a few hundred to several thousand HKD to hand over their bank accounts and online banking details.
Police seized around HK$3.65 million in cash, along with watches, gold jewelry, vehicles and other property worth about HK$5 million.
Authorities said they have cut off the related fund flow and will continue investigating those behind the network.
Police also warned people not to sell, rent or lend their bank accounts, as they could be used for illegal money transfers and may lead to legal consequences.
