🇺🇸 A Trump-appointed judge ordered the Pentagon to end its freeze on reviewing new onshore wind projects.
The DoD had basically stopped processing them since May, citing radar, airspace, and other national security issues.
Industry groups said it created a total halt, putting billions in investments and jobs on ice.
Judge Immergut ruled the Pentagon can’t ignore the deadlines Congress wrote into the law or rewrite the process just because it doesn’t like the outcome.
This is one more in a string of rulings that have forced the admin to keep reviewing (or allowing) projects it wanted slowed down.
Wind still only makes about 10% of U.S. electricity, but these fights keep showing how hard it is to fully shut the door once the legal framework is locked in.
