@BabylonLabs_io After learning about Trustless Bitcoin Vaults I feel this could become one of the most important ideas for Bitcoin in DeFi. For a long time many Bitcoin holders avoided DeFi because they did not want to bridge wrap or hand their coins to someone else. TBV is trying to solve that problem in a different way.

With TBV your Bitcoin stays on the Bitcoin network while it can be used as collateral for DeFi applications. The BTC is locked in a vault that belongs only to the depositor and is protected by cryptography instead of a custodian. That means every vault is separate and no one can move or reuse your Bitcoin in ways you did not approve.

Another interesting part is that TBV does not rely on a bridge holding your BTC. Instead it connects Bitcoin and Ethereum through cryptographic proofs while keeping the coins on Bitcoin. This reduces trust in third parties and gives users more control over their assets.

Right now TBV is running on Bitcoin Signet and Ethereum Sepolia so everything is for testing and has no real value. Even so it gives developers and users a chance to understand how trustless Bitcoin DeFi could work. If this model continues to improve it could help more Bitcoin holders join DeFi without giving up self custody and that could be a major step forward for the Bitcoin ecosystem.
