I sometimes wonder how many people deploying capital here have genuinely thought through what that liveness requirement means during network congestion or coordinated inactivity.

What seems interesting is the language distinction between trust-minimized and trustless. Those two phrases get used almost interchangeably, but they describe fundamentally different security guarantees. Deterministic means the math enforces the outcome unconditionally. Probabilistic means it's overwhelmingly likely under normal conditions but depends on rational external behaviour. The question that comes to mind is whether that gap only becomes visible in precisely the adversarial conditions where it matters most.

Looking from the outside, setup honesty during vault initialization carries its own quiet weight. The garbled circuit construction requires the setup process itself to be performed without manipulation — I'm not completely sure how an ordinary BTC holder independently verifies that moment of trust without deep cryptographic knowledge.
