Global central bank gold purchases have surged, rising 62 tonnes year-over-year in Q2 2026 to 289 tonnes.
This marks the biggest quarterly addition since Q4 2024, with Poland leading the charge at 82 tonnes.
Central banks are accumulating gold at a rapid pace, with quarter-over-quarter purchases up 231 tonnes, or 407%. Uzbekistan and China also made significant additions, with 41 and 40 tonnes respectively.
