“no bridge risk” claim vs what actually happens under the hood

but if u actually dig into how the delegated BTC gets used on PoS chains (the “Bitcoin Supercharged Networks” side of things), theres a piece thats easy to skip past. the vault itself is bridge free, true. but the finality providers n relayer infra that connect Bitcoin timestamps to those PoS chains still carry their own operational assumptions, software bugs, downtime, misconfigured relayers. its not “bridge risk” in the classic wrapped token sense, but its also not “zero external dependency” like the marketing line implies.
none of this makes TBV bad, the core vault design genuinely is non custodial n thats real. its just that “no bridge risk” is doin a lot of simplifying, when the more accurate version is “no bridge risk, but still relayer n finality provider risk that ppl rarely mention.”
so heres the real question. if the infra around the vault still has failure points, is “trustless” even the right word, or is it just “less custodial than before”
