The more I look at Babylon, the less I think this is simply a “Bitcoin staking” story.
The interesting part is native BTC.
Why wrap Bitcoin, bridge it, or add another layer of trust just to make it productive?
Babylon is exploring a different path: let BTC help secure PoS systems and potentially work as DeFi collateral while keeping the asset native.
That matters.
Yield alone doesn’t impress me anymore. We’ve seen too many cycles where APY became the product and everything else was just marketing.
What I’m watching with Babylon is whether native BTC can actually become useful financial infrastructure without sacrificing the properties that made Bitcoin valuable in the first place.
If that works at scale, $BABY could be part of something much bigger than another staking narrative.
Maybe Bitcoin doesn’t need to become more complicated.
Maybe DeFi needs to learn how to build around Bitcoin.
