The CLARITY Act has reached a critical moment.

President Trump says he has agreed to strict crypto ethics rules and is urging Democrats and Republicans to work together to get the CLARITY Act across the finish line.

But negotiations have become difficult. Democrats argue there are major loopholes that still need to be fixed. They point out that the proposed ban does not cover officials' children, while Trump's crypto business is largely managed by his sons. They also question whether enforcement by the Department of Justice, led by an Attorney General appointed by the president, creates a conflict of interest.

Talks are still ongoing, but time is running out. The August congressional recess is approaching, and if no agreement is reached before then, the chances of passing the bill this session could become much lower.

While Washington debates, other countries continue moving forward with crypto regulation and adoption. The United States risks losing momentum in one of the world's fastest-growing industries.

Clear rules are needed. A bipartisan solution must be found, and it needs to happen fast.
