Day 2 Testing

Today I spent less time exploring the interface and more time understanding how the Babylon ecosystem works behind the scenes. The deeper I looked, the more the architecture started to make sense.

One of my biggest takeaways was that Bitcoin never leaves the Bitcoin network. Instead of wrapping BTC or relying on bridges, Babylon uses Bitcoin's UTXO and Taproot scripting model, keeping self-custody at the core of the design.

I also explored Babylon Genesis, which serves as the coordination layer rather than replacing Bitcoin. It manages validator activity, checkpointing, governance, and communication across Bitcoin Secured Networks while Bitcoin remains the settlement layer.

Another interesting part was learning the difference between BTC staking and BABY staking. BTC holders delegate to Finality Providers to strengthen PoS security while retaining ownership of their Bitcoin. BABY powers validator consensus, governance, and transaction fees.

I also looked into Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV), where BTC stays locked directly on Bitcoin instead of being wrapped, reducing bridge-related risks and staying true to Bitcoin's security model.

One thing that caught my attention was the gap between the huge amount of Bitcoin securing the ecosystem and BABY's current valuation. It made me wonder how the coordination layer could evolve as adoption grows.

Overall, Day 2 felt far more educational than Day 1. I came away with a much better understanding of how Babylon extends Bitcoin's security into PoS networks without sacrificing self-custody.
