The more I study Newton's architecture, the more I think its biggest privacy innovation isn't encryption—it's deciding what should never become permanent.

Most protocols focus on protecting stored data. Newton asks a different question: should every piece of private information be stored in the first place?

Its ephemeral privacy flow is built for data that only matters once. A temporary portfolio snapshot, a single transaction parameter, or a real-time condition can be encrypted, evaluated, and discarded instead of becoming long-term protocol state.

That design reduces unnecessary data persistence while still allowing policies, evaluations, and cryptographic proofs to complete the verification process.

The tradeoff is worth thinking about. Less persistent data strengthens privacy, but it also removes context that could be valuable for future decisions or audits.

Privacy isn't only about hiding information. Sometimes it's about knowing exactly when information no longer needs to exist.
