One line from DAO Labs' latest article stood out to me:

"Activity alone should never be the final metric."

That's the difference between proof of activity and proof of work.

In Social Mining, it's easy to count posts, comments, and submissions. What's harder is measuring whether those actions actually created value.

As a contributor, I've learned that meaningful validation matters. A task isn't valuable simply because it was completed. The real question is whether it informed people, sparked discussion, supported project goals, or helped grow the community.

DAO Labs' three-stage validation framework—Peer-to-Peer Validation, Quality Validation, and Results Validation—addresses a problem many SocialFi platforms still face: rewarding volume instead of impact.

The biggest takeaway for me is that sustainable communities are built by recognizing originality, effort, and results, not just activity. When quality contributions are properly validated, genuine contributors stand out and the ecosystem becomes stronger for everyone.
