Binance likes to brag about the performance of its trading bots. Fire one up, let it run for a year, and their dashboard will proudly show you something ridiculous like “+132% ROI.”

Sounds amazing, right? Doubling your money while you sleep. Except you didn’t. Not even close.

Because here’s the truth: when you break down the trades, the fills, and the actual capital allocation, the real ROI is maybe 15–25% over the entire period. Respectable, but nowhere near the fantasy number plastered on your screen.

So who is the moron behind these statistics?

Binance is counting ROI as if every micro-order executed by the bot somehow represented the entire capital earning that percentage. That’s not ROI. That’s not even accounting. That’s marketing fluff dressed up as performance reporting.

And it’s misleading — dangerously so.

New traders see “132% ROI” and assume their account balance will actually grow 132%. They pile in more capital, only to realize months later that their balance is nowhere near the promised figure. The “ROI” Binance shows is essentially a statistical mirage.

This isn’t a rookie mistake. Binance runs quant desks. They know how ROI is supposed to be calculated. Pretending not to understand the difference between gain per grid order and return on invested capital insults every trader on the platform.

And it feels like a scam. If a regulated broker in traditional finance tried to pass this off as ROI, regulators would bury them in fines. But in crypto? Apparently, Binance can present inflated bot returns without accountability.

Here’s what traders actually need:

  • Real ROI measured against invested capital.

  • Annualized returns adjusted for time.

  • PnL after fees, not cherry-picked grid percentages.

Until Binance fixes this, their ROI stats are nothing more than marketing bait.

So yes, I’ll say it clearly: showing me “+132% ROI” when my balance barely grew 20% is deceptive. And every time I see it, I can’t help but think: who are the morons in Binance’s statistics team, and why are scammers allowed to set the narrative?
