According to Foresight News, Ethereum node operator Numic recently experienced a security incident. The issue was discovered on May 14 by contributors to Lido DAO, a protocol on Ethereum that was affected by the breach. The security flaw occurred a few days prior and impacted a developer's machine that had access to the mainnet validator's encrypted key material backup. It remains unclear whether the encrypted key material was accessed, copied, or manipulated in any other way. It is also unknown whether the decryption material for the data was found or if the encryption was compromised.

In response to the potential access to the encrypted backup, and for security reasons, the node operator decided to set the deposit keys related to the Lido protocol to zero to prevent any further deposits. They also planned to voluntarily exit all potentially affected keys in a staggered manner over the next few days. As of a few hours ago, all validators of the operators have exited and fully withdrawn. This incident did not affect the operation of the validators or user funds.
