I took multiple 5x short trades on $US (Talus) today. Every time I closed the position, the PnL shown before closing was much higher than what I actually received.

One trade was showing around +$500, but after it closed, the realized PnL was -$1.

Another was showing +$300-400, but the final realized PnL ended up being -$353.

It turned what should have been a profitable day into a very bad one.

I’m not sure if it was due to slippage, liquidity, mark price, or something else, but this experience completely destroyed my confidence in trading low-liquidity futures with leverage.

I won’t be using leverage again.
