Zama has officially concluded the $ZAMA auction event, with 8% of the total supply allocated to the community. At the end of the auction, the $ZAMA clearing price was confirmed at $0.05, implying a valuation of $550 million.
However, just as I anticipated, right at the moment Zama announced the clearing price, the $$ZAMA oken price was likely to drop due to one of two reasons:
- Profit-taking pressure if the clearing price was significantly lower than the pre-market price.
- Cut-loss pressure if the clearing price was higher than the pre-market price.
At the time of TGE, the pre-market price was around $0.052, meaning participants in the pre-sale had a profit of roughly 4%. Adding the 10% token bonus (requiring NFT ownership plus a 5% bonus code), total profit came to about 14%.
But I’m confident that with this level of return, not everyone would dare to short on Binance just to lock in profits, because:
- The profit is relatively low, only 14% based on the invested capital.
- The capital required is large. For example, investing $1K in the pre-sale would require around $3K to both hedge and add margin.
- The potential profit is only about $140, compared to liquidation risk that could reach several thousand dollars.
