📊 Binance Research: what’s happening in the market right now
A fresh monthly market report from Binance Research for June is out. We’ve gathered the most important points for you.
June was tough: the total market value fell by 16.9% to $2.13T. Bitcoin failed to hold the $83K level and finished the month down 20.5%, while Ethereum was down 21.5%. Against the backdrop of overall caution in the markets, April’s rebound turned out to be more of a technical move than a full-fledged reversal.
About $2.2B was withdrawn from Bitcoin ETFs over the month—no expected inflow ever materialized. The altcoin sell-off hit a 5-year high, a classic sign that retail investors’ interest is cooling.
There was little upside at the top—the entire market was adjusting. The worst performers were HYPE (−10.1%), TRX (−10.7%), and SOL (−10.8%).
Stablecoins remain the most resilient segment: total volume holds around $312B. RLUSD grew to $1.7B and received a license in Japan.
Tokenized real-world assets (RWA) continue to grow—the market reached $31.7B, with the private credit segment adding the most. And bStocks passed the weekend test: while traditional exchanges were closed, tokenized shares maintained their price with an accuracy of 0.12%.
In June, DeFi was recovering in terms of security: the volume of hacks dropped by 89%—from the April peak of $644M to $71M. Total DeFi funds (TVL) fell to $69.3B, mainly due to declines in token prices rather than a loss of trust.

⚠️ Liquidation: why your deposit gets wiped and how to avoid it
Liquidation is when the exchange forcibly closes your futures position because there isn’t enough collateral (margin) to hold the loss anymore. In simple terms, the market moved against you and your deposit got zeroed.
Why it happens:
— Too much leverage — the price moves by a couple of percent and that’s it, the position is gone
— No stop-loss — the loss grows until it eats up all your margin
— All your balance in one trade — one move wipes out the entire position
How to avoid liquidation:
— Start with small leverage (x2–x5, not x50)
— Always set a stop-loss — it’s your safety mechanism
— Keep some margin buffer, don’t use the entire amount
— Watch the liquidation price — Binance shows it right in the position
