🚨BREAKING NEWS: 🇺🇸 CFTC Chair Selig says he is "still hopeful" that the CLARITY Act will reach Trump's desk, noting that there are "tools inside the box" if the bill does not pass.
Selig says that in cooperation with SEC Chair Atkins on Project Crypto, they have created a "clear taxonomy" to determine which crypto assets are securities and which are not.
CFTC Chair Selig says that if the CLARITY Act does not pass, the CFTC will begin setting up its own crypto market structure.
Selig says he instructed his staff to "start exploring rules to codify a CFTC market structure for crypto assets."
This could allow crypto exchanges for the first time to offer leveraged trading under CFTC oversight.
