@Walrus 🦭/acc (WAL) is a decentralized storage protocol built on Sui that solves a key Web3 problem: blockchains can’t efficiently store large amounts of data. Instead of forcing everything on chain, Walrus separates coordination from storage—using the blockchain for verification and incentives, while data is stored off chain across a decentralized network.

By splitting files into fragments with erasure coding and distributing them across many nodes, Walrus achieves reliable, low-cost storage without central servers. The WAL token powers payments, rewards, staking, and governance, aligning users, storage providers, and the community.
