According to Foresight News, Optimism has announced the introduction of a new governance experiment, the Optimism Collective Deliberative Processes, in the fourth round of Retro Public Funding. The deliberative processes are designed to help Optimism involve representative ordinary users in governance decisions for thorough discussion.

In each round of deliberation, several assumptions will be tested, and the results will guide the design of future rounds and/or other parts of the governance system. The implementation steps are as follows: 1) Randomly select 50 voters to participate; 2) Discuss topics related to the fourth round; 3) Between two meetings, the community can comment on the drafted results; 4) The approved results will be directly included in the fourth round of voting.

This move by Optimism is seen as a step towards more inclusive and participatory decision-making processes in the governance of public goods.
