Feast of St. Scholastica – February 10th 🕊️

Tomorrow, February 10th, we celebrate St. Scholastica, Virgin, twin sister of St. Benedict and patroness of Benedictine nuns.

Born c. 480 in Nursia, Italy, Scholastica dedicated her life to God from childhood. She founded a convent near Monte Cassino, close to her brother’s monastery. Tradition holds that once a year they met to discuss spiritual matters; on her last visit, she begged Benedict to stay longer in prayer, but he refused. She prayed for rain, a storm arose, forcing him to remain — she died three days later. Benedict saw her soul ascend as a dove.
