We are pleased to announce the release of IOST v4.10.0, a mandatory mainnet upgrade introducing improvements to smart contract execution, error handling, and overall node stability.
This release includes backward-incompatible changes to the network rules. All mainnet node operators must complete the upgrade before the new rules take effect to maintain network compatibility and avoid potential service disruptions.
Key Improvements
IOST v4.10.0 introduces several technical improvements designed to enhance network reliability and stability:
Smart Contract Execution: Improved error handling for contract calls, stronger isolation within the Virtual Machine (VM), and enhanced validation of storage parameters.
Node Stability: Strengthened error handling for insufficient Gas budgets, contract deployment, and contract upgrades to improve node reliability.
Development Infrastructure: Upgraded the Go toolchain to version 1.27.3, alongside updates to VM libraries, build processes, and container image configurations.
Important: Mandatory Upgrade for All Node Operators
The new execution rules will take effect at mainnet block height 480080000, currently estimated to occur on November 10, 2026, at approximately 23:45 UTC.
Please note that the estimated activation time may vary depending on block production speed. The activation is determined by block height, not by the estimated date or time.
All mainnet node operators, including block producers, exchanges, custodians, and other full-node operators, must upgrade to v4.10.0 before the activation block.
Failure to upgrade in time may affect block production, block synchronization, and transaction confirmation.

Verify Your Upgrade
After completing the upgrade, run the following command to verify the node version and Git commit hash:
docker exec -it iserver iwallet state | grep -E "codeVersion|gitHash"
The output should include the following values:

Important: When upgrading manually or rebuilding containers, ensure that existing configurations and data volumes are preserved. Continue using the following startup parameter:
