Post-Ethereum's shift from Proof of Work (PoW), GPU mining was left without a clear frontrunner. That has now changed with Kaspa (KAS), a rising star in the sector, surging ahead in hashrate figures. Following Ethereum's departure from PoW, Kaspa's hashrate rocketed to 1 PH/s, outpacing Ethereum's pre-Merge rate, according to coincodex.
The rapid growth in Kaspa's hashrate is seen as a sign of the mining community's high expectations. As a result, the spotlight is now on Kaspa's strong development team. Led by Yonatan Sompolinsky, the creator of the GHOST protocol, the team has built a robust, high-speed PoW consensus blockchain. Kaspa's unique GHOSTDAG protocol enables a record block time of one second, outshining its competitors.
