Yesterday I wrote $697.84 was the line for $BNB. It broke. BNB sits at ~$692 this morning, and the only line left between it and real trouble is $680 — the floor that has caught every fall since 30 October.
The news is genuinely good — and the price says the market hasn't believed it yet.
What happened: Binance's Recovery Update #7 (4 November) says about 98% of the assets taken in the 29 October hack — roughly $6.3 billion — have now been replenished from company funds, up from 95% on 2 November. The new proof-of-reserves snapshot, taken at 00:00 UTC on 4 November, covers 44 tokens, up from just 10. Recovery Update #8 (03:04 UTC, 5 November) reopened withdrawals for another batch from 04:00 UTC on 5 November across six networks. Deposits stay open. (Sources: Binance announcements, 4–5 Nov; TheCrypto_B, 5 Nov.)
And yet BNB trades at ~$692, down 3.11% in 24 hours (CoinPaprika, just now; KuCoin cross-check $694.06, Binance.US $688.76), in a $682.82 to $722.35 range. The VanEck BNB ETF closed 5 November down 3.43% at $26.79 (Finnhub). The coin that should benefit most from its own exchange healing is still bleeding with the market — $BTC was stuck around $76,289 at 01:13 UTC, and the US jobs report lands at 13:30 UTC today.
Why it matters: BNB is the exchange's own token. When Binance says 98% is back and the coin still can't hold $697, holders are pricing the recovery as "not done yet". The remaining 2% is still being bought back, the full zero-knowledge proof takes 50–60 hours to compute, and there is still no full post-mortem. For anyone holding BNB, this is your money's trust test.
My stance, leaning cautious, not bearish: the recovery is real and moving the right way — 90%, 95%, 98% is a clean staircase — but a staircase is not a floor, and $680 is. I am leaning cautious because the news is good and the price is weak. It is not strong because $680 has held every test since 30 October — a coin catching the same floor while its own exchange heals is coiling, not dying. And $BTC has not settled either: if BTC loses $75,208 into the jobs report, $680 gets tested with real force.
The plan for $BNB: entry zone $680–$695. Three targets if the floor holds: $722 first — today's high; then $738, the old October wall; then $761, the top of the October range. Stop below $680 on a daily close. Half at $722, a quarter each at $738 and $761, stop to entry once $722 clears. Keep size light — a leaning read into a jobs report, not a conviction trade.
Scenario map: if $680 holds through the 13:30 UTC jobs print and $722 reclaims, the recovery story finally has a price to match it, and $738 comes into play fast. If $680 breaks on a daily close, the floor that held for a week is gone and the next honest level is the $675 area. Invalidation is a daily close below $680 — not a wick, a close.
What would prove me wrong: a clean daily close under $680 with withdrawals stalling, or a $722 reclaim before the jobs report. Either way I will say so.
My next update triggers at $680. Hold it or lose it — I will post the outcome plainly.
Tell me straight: are you buying the $680 floor on $BNB with me, or waiting for $722 to prove the recovery is real? Drop your number.
