BNB Chain's upcoming upgrade allocates 5% of block space exclusively for payment transactions. Here's what the numbers actually show:

Sampled 600 random blocks over 24h:
• Payments = 20% of total txs
• But they consume <1% of block space (lightweight ops)

The new 5% reserved lane can handle ~100 payments per block. Current average demand sits at 18 payments/block.

That's 5.5x headroom even during peak memecoin congestion when non-payment txs saturate the remaining 95%. Smart design: payments stay fast and cheap regardless of network spam.

TL;DR: Payment lane is overprovisioned by design, won't bottleneck under realistic load.
