Your trading fee isn't your only cost. The price you get matters too. Here is how to read the Binance Spot order book, and where referral code CODE2026 fits in.

What Is the Binance Order Book?

The order book lists open orders for a pair. Each row shows a price, an amount and a total. Red rows are sell orders, called asks. Green rows are buy orders, called bids. The current price sits between them.

What Is the Spread?

The spread is the gap between the lowest ask and the highest bid. In this BTC/USDT example from Nov 5, 2026, the best ask was 75,671.53 and the best bid was 75,671.52. That is a spread of 0.01 USDT. Smaller pairs can have far wider spreads.

What Does Depth Tell You?

Depth shows how much is waiting at each price. If your order is larger than the best row, it fills across several prices. Your average price then moves against you. This is called slippage.

How to Use the Order Book Before a Trade

  • Check the spread on the pair you want.

  • Compare your order size with the amounts near the top.

  • Use a limit order if you need to control your price.

Fees, Spread and CODE2026

CODE2026 shows up to 20% trade rebates on qualifying Spot fees. That relates to the fee only. It doesn't reduce spread, slippage or market losses.

FAQ

Do I pay the spread as a fee?

No. It isn't charged as a separate fee. It shows up in the price you get.

Why does the order book keep moving?

Orders are placed, filled and cancelled all the time. Read it just before you trade.
