Yesterday's Proof Isn't Enough ⏳

Here's something I think most crypto developers overlook.

A cryptographic proof can be mathematically valid and still be useless for a decision being made today.

Imagine a lending protocol checking whether a borrower meets its collateral requirements.

The borrower submits a valid proof.

Everything checks out.

Except the proof describes their financial position from yesterday.

Since then, their collateral value has collapsed.

Would you approve the loan?

This is why fresh information matters just as much as cryptographic validity.

Networks like $LINK help applications access external data, but developers must still establish how that information connects to the conditions being verified.

A proving system could bind a computation to a specific data snapshot or timestamp.

zkVerify could then independently check the supported proof.

But the application must still decide whether that evidence is recent enough to accept.

That's the distinction I find fascinating.

zkVerify specializes in verifying cryptographic evidence, while applications remain responsible for enforcing their own requirements.

And with $VFY supporting verification activity, the network plays a defined role in this infrastructure.

I believe this separation becomes increasingly necessary as DeFi grows more complex.

Because the question isn't only whether something was true.

It's whether the evidence still matters when money moves.
