$BTC, $ETH, $BNB and $SOL: who’s leading, who’s lagging, and where the floors might be
My four favorite coins are in a corrective phase together, but not all at the same pace. When you put the charts side by side, one of them clearly looks more tired than the others. Let’s connect the dots.
📊 The scoreboard (Nov 2, 2026)
🟠 $BTC ~$78,000 | 1 month: −8%
🔷 $ETH ~$2,285 | 1 month: −16%
🟡 $BNB ~$708 | 1 week: −4%
🟣 $SOL ~$94 | 1 month: −20%
All four are trading below major moving averages with negative momentum. The pecking order is clear, though: BTC leads, ETH and BNB sit in the middle, and SOL lags.
🟠 BTC: the leader
Bitcoin is still under its 20-day and 50-day EMAs, both around $80,300, but it’s holding up best. The key zone is $75,000–$76,000. As long as that holds, the market has a floor. If it breaks, everything else is likely to slide with it.
🔷 ETH: the middle child
ETH is down about 16% in a month. It’s trying to climb back toward $2,320, with heavier resistance near $2,500. Momentum is improving slightly, but there’s no confirmed reversal yet.
🟡 BNB: decent chart, special risk
BNB’s long-term trend still looks healthier than most, since its 200-day average has been rising since October. The elephant in the room is the recent $6.3B Binance hack. That’s a company-specific risk, not just a chart pattern.
Binance is covering the losses (as they publicly stated) so the risk is more reputational/flow-related than existential.
🟣 SOL: the weakest link
SOL lost the $96 support, sits below every key moving average, shows a MACD sell signal and has the deepest drawdown of the four. It’s about 65% below its $293 all-time high. Spot SOL ETFs are seeing outflows, and some analysts see a possible head-and-shoulders on the daily chart.
🎯 SOL levels I’m watching
1️⃣ $90–$88: round number plus the 200-day moving average. This is the first real battle.
2️⃣ $82–$78: the next major support shelf if $88 breaks.
3️⃣ $70 and below: summer lows. This is a tail scenario, not my base case.
Could SOL revisit summer lows? It’s not crazy. From $94, $70 is about a 26% drop, and SOL just did 20% in one month. But it would have to break three support layers in a row, and that usually needs a bigger trigger, like BTC losing $75K.
🤔 So what’s more likely in November?
My rough read, not a prediction:
✅ Most likely: choppy range between $88 and $100
⚠️ Second: a break below $88 toward $82
🚀 Least likely: a sustained break above $105
The bear trigger is only about 6% away, while the bull trigger needs about 12% plus a fight through $96–100. SOL is oversold, so a sharp bounce is always possible. Holding above $105, though, is a different story. If BTC reclaims ~$80K and ETF flows turn positive, I’ll happily change my mind.
💰 How I think about DCA in a market like this
Higher potential return always means higher risk:
$SOL has the biggest rebound potential and the biggest downside
$ETH is middle ground
$BNB has a healthier trend but carries exchange risk
$BTC has the lowest risk and the lowest multiple
One common approach is a steady core (BTC/ETH) plus a smaller satellite (SOL), so being wrong on the riskiest coin doesn’t sink everything.
Two ways to DCA:
🗓️ Time-based: the same amount every week, no matter the price
📍 Level-based: bigger buys at key supports ($88 → $80 → $70 for SOL), with cash kept in reserve
Rules that matter more than the coin:
❌ No leverage in a downtrend
💤 Only money you won’t need for a long while
🛑 Decide in advance what makes you pause, e.g. BTC closing a week below $75K
Bottom line: the whole group is in a pullback, BTC is the anchor, and SOL is the high-beta bet. Watch $88 on SOL. How it reacts there will tell us more than any prediction.
