Attackers stole roughly $6.4 billion from Binance on Thursday in the largest cryptocurrency theft on record. Chainalysis and TRM Labs attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, a group linked to North Korea's government. Binance CEO Richard Teng said Binance will absorb all losses using company funds and an emergency reserve, and said customer assets were untouched. Binance aims to resume withdrawals by Sunday and publish a complete proof of reserves by Monday. Roughly $3 billion has been frozen or located, but Elliptic estimated that the attacker still controls around $3.3 billion.
