Bitcoin Core has disclosed a low-severity bug that could allow miners to corrupt other nodes' undo data and force them offline.

The attack requires thousands of specially constructed blocks and, on 64-bit systems, a precisely timed chain reorganization.

$BTC Core has released fixes in versions 29.5, 30.4, 31.2 and 32.1.

However, 32-bit systems and nodes using FAT32 storage remain vulnerable.

The exploit is considered impractical, but it shows how a flaw deep inside Bitcoin's infrastructure can affect node operators.
