Two years ago, around this time of year, I experienced a Halloween that became much more meaningful than I had expected.
It all started with Binance. We first got to know one another through our shared interest in the platform and our enthusiasm for the crypto world. At first, most of our conversations happened online. We talked about Binance, exchanged thoughts, shared updates and sometimes joked about how much time we spent following things happening in the crypto space.
Over time, familiar usernames became familiar people. Even though we had different daily routines and came from different backgrounds, we had something in common: we enjoyed learning, sharing experiences, and being part of the Binance community. Eventually, we decided it would be fun to meet in person instead of remaining just online friends.
Halloween gave us the perfect excuse.
Rather than simply meeting for a meal or coffee, we came up with a more playful plan: attend a Halloween party together and dress up our pets for the occasion. The idea sounded easy until we started discussing costumes. Everyone had a different suggestion. Some wanted something cute, others preferred spooky looks, and a few ideas were so funny that we could not stop laughing while imagining them.
Preparing the costumes became part of the memory itself. We discussed which outfits would be comfortable for the pets, what accessories would look good and how to make each little character stand out. Of course, the pets did not always cooperate with our plans. An outfit that looked perfect in our imagination could become a completely different story once a curious pet started moving around.
But that was exactly what made it fun. We were not trying to create a perfect Halloween photo or win a costume competition. We simply wanted to enjoy the moment together.
When we finally met at the party, seeing everyone’s pets dressed up was probably the highlight of the evening. There were cute looks, funny expressions, and plenty of moments when we had to pause what we were doing just to laugh. Taking a group photo was harder than expected because the pets seemed to have their own schedules. Just when everyone was ready, one would turn away, another would move and someone else would become more interested in exploring the room than posing for the camera.
Naturally, we took more photos than we had planned.

What made the night special, however, was not only the costumes. It was the feeling of meeting people I had originally known through Binance and discovering that our connection could become something more personal. We talked about things beyond crypto, shared stories about our lives and enjoyed being together without needing a screen between us.
Binance was the reason our paths crossed, but that Halloween reminded me that communities are ultimately about people. Behind every username is someone with their own interests, personality and story. Sometimes, a shared passion can be the beginning of a friendship that grows far beyond its original setting.
Looking back, I still think about how unusual and lovely that gathering was: a group of friends who met through a crypto community, spending Halloween together with their pets in little costumes. It was simple, a little chaotic and full of laughter. Those are often the moments that stay with us longest.
Two years later, the memory reminds me why I value online communities when they create opportunities for genuine connections. We may first meet because of a shared interest, but the friendships we build can become the most rewarding part of the journey.

This Halloween, I hope everyone finds a reason to celebrate with the people and pets - they care about. Whether your costume is scary, cute or completely ridiculous, the best memories are the ones made together.
Here’s to friendship, furry Halloween stars, and the unexpected connections that bring us together. Happy Halloween, Binance community 🐾
