Even when a crypto wallet is equipped with highly robust security features, a single human mistake can still result in the loss of millions.
We recently saw an unfortunate example of this when a multisig user fell victim to a social engineering scam, resulting in a total loss of $7.4M. The incident unfolded after the targeted individual mistakenly approved 2 of 7 withdrawal requests. By granting these authorizations, the victim unknowingly provided the malicious actor with the exact permissions needed to spend their ETH, BTC, and USDT.
Immediately following those approvals, the attacker instantly stole $7M directly from the wallet of the victim.
