BULLA funding sits in the 93rd percentile of its own 90-period history while top traders have quietly flipped net short. DOOD shorts are paying -0.69% every 4 hours, which is a squeeze setup, not a short setup. Same leaderboard, three very different risk profiles.
Data: Binance USDT-M perpetuals, snapshot 2026-10-26 21:36 (Taipei, UTC+8). BULLA and DOOD settle funding every 4h; QNT every 8h. Funding percentile is against each coin's last 90 settlements. "OI (coin)" is open interest counted in tokens, so price moves don't distort it. Liquidation zones are rough estimates from common leverage (50x/20x/10x), not exchange data.

1) $BULLA (BULLAUSDT): +59.4% | Last 0.1378 | 24h range 0.08228 – 0.14478 | 24h vol 132M USDT
Market diagnosis
- Funding: +0.0285% per 4h, 93rd percentile of its own history (90-period average -0.0022%, max 0.058%). Two settlements ago it printed -0.5715%, so positioning flipped from short-heavy to long-paying within hours.
- OI (coin): 112.7M to 134.3M in 24h (+19%), and +28% from 105.1M six hours ago. OI value nearly doubled (9.7M to 18.8M USDT, +93%). Fresh leverage arrived late in the move.
- Positioning: top-trader long/short position ratio slid from 1.11 to 0.98 over the last 6h, so large accounts are now net short or hedged. Taker buy/sell ratio is 1.02–1.09, still mildly buyer-led.
- Structure: 1h RSI 85.5 (peaked at 88.5), 4h RSI 78.7. Price closes 11.0% above the 4h upper Bollinger band. 4h MACD histogram is still expanding, so no momentum divergence yet. The current 4h candle carries a 57% upper wick, and the 21:00 1h candle a 39% wick at 0.14358.
- MC/FDV and 30-day unlocks: not verified for this run. Treat as unknown.
Short setup
- Stop first: SL on a 1h close above 0.1500, beyond the 0.14478 high and the estimated 10x short-liquidation zone.
- Resistance zone: 0.1411 – 0.1448 (24h high). Estimated short liquidations above a 0.1378 entry: ~0.1406 (50x), ~0.1447 (20x), ~0.152 (10x).
- Left-side entry: small size only, on a rejection wick inside 0.1411 – 0.1448.
- Right-side entry (preferred): a 1h close back below 0.1340 (the 20:00–21:00 lows), with coin-denominated OI rolling over from 134M.
- TP1: 0.1240 (4h upper Bollinger band area). TP2: 0.1028 (1h Bollinger midline).
- Sizing: risk 0.5–1% of the account between entry and the 0.1500 stop. From a 0.1378 entry that is about 8.9% of distance, which rules out high leverage.
Risk notes
From what I've seen, top traders leaning short while retail funding climbs is a useful context signal, but it does not time the top. MACD has not rolled over yet. Wait for the 0.1340 break rather than anticipating it.

2) $DOOD (DOODUSDT): +58.8% | Last 0.002248 | 24h range 0.001374 – 0.002664 | 24h vol 304M USDT
Market diagnosis
- Funding: -0.6905% per 4h, 3rd percentile of its own history (average -0.0511%). The last two settlements were -0.7692% and -0.7129%. Shorts are paying longs heavily.
- OI (coin): 2.84B to 4.23B in 24h (+49%), and +18% from 3.59B six hours ago. OI value +130%. The new positions are largely short.
- Positioning: top-trader long/short ratio steady at 1.12–1.23 (53.9% long accounts). Taker buy/sell ratio 0.96–1.01, so neither side is aggressive right now.
- Structure: 1h RSI 70.9, down from 79.6, and the 1h MACD histogram is shrinking. 4h RSI 67.0. The 17:00 1h candle left a 66% upper wick at 0.002664 and the 21:00 candle a 77.8% wick at 0.00247. The 4h trend is still well below the 0.004956 high from Oct 21.
- MC/FDV and 30-day unlocks: not verified for this run.
Short setup
- Stance: watchlist only. A crowded short with deeply negative funding is the fuel for a squeeze, and every 4h a short holder pays about 0.7%.
- Stop first if it triggers: 1h close above 0.002700, beyond the 0.002664 high.
- Resistance zone: 0.00247 – 0.002664. Estimated short liquidations above a 0.002248 entry: ~0.00229 (50x), ~0.00236 (20x), ~0.00247 (10x). These sit right under resistance.
- Right-side entry only: a 1h close below 0.002063 (the 20:00 low), plus funding normalising toward zero and OI (coin) contracting from 4.23B.
- TP1: 0.00185. TP2: 0.00164 (4h Bollinger midline).
- Sizing: 0.5% account risk maximum, and include funding cost in the plan.
Risk notes
In my experience, shorting into funding this negative means paying the crowd to wait. The upper wicks show supply, but the positioning argues against front-running it. This is the weakest short case of the three.

3) $QNT (QNTUSDT): +18.5% | Last 216.5 | 24h range 182.65 – 223.82 | 24h vol 216M USDT
Market diagnosis
- Funding: 0.0000% per 8h, 70th percentile of its own history (average -0.0261%). Longs are not paying up.
- OI (coin): 147.7K to 154.0K in 24h (+4.3%), +12% from 137.5K six hours ago. Moderate leverage build, mostly in the afternoon leg.
- Positioning: top-trader long/short ratio fell from 1.69 to 1.38 over 6h, so large accounts trimmed longs into the rally. Taker buy/sell ratio 0.80–1.11, mixed.
- Structure: 1h RSI 79.6 (peaked 85.3), 4h RSI 74.3, price 3.6% above the 4h upper band. The current 4h candle has a 69.7% upper wick at 223.82; the 18:00–20:00 1h candles each left 42–49% wicks. MACD on 1h and 4h is still positive and has not diverged.
- MC/FDV and 30-day unlocks: not verified for this run.
Short setup
- Stop first: SL on a 1h close above 228.0, beyond the 223.82 high.
- Resistance zone: 219 – 223.82. Estimated short liquidations above a 216.5 entry: ~220.8 (50x), ~227.3 (20x), ~238 (10x).
- Left-side entry: light size on a rejection at 219 – 223.8.
- Right-side entry (preferred): a 1h close below 213.0 (the 20:00–21:00 lows), with OI (coin) dropping back under 150K.
- TP1: 208.8 (4h upper Bollinger band). TP2: 197.5 (1h Bollinger midline).
- Sizing: 0.5–1% account risk; stop distance from 216.5 is about 5.3%.
Risk notes
From what I've seen, a large-cap move with neutral funding is often spot-led and trends longer than oscillators suggest. The repeated upper wicks and large accounts trimming are the best signals here, but this is a fade of an orderly trend, so confirmation matters more than price level.

Position discipline
- Funding and OI alone have shown no statistical edge for shorts; they describe how big the next move can be, not its direction. Wait for structure to break.
- Set the stop first and size from it. Never move a stop further away.
- Typical drawdown before a fade works can be 3–5%, so keep leverage low and scale in. Don't chase a short after OI has already flushed 8% or more.
- These are three separate theses. Don't run them at full size together.
This is not investment advice. Leverage can lose more than you plan for.
