Chinese prosecutors reportedly seek to confiscate more than 61,000 Bitcoin and other assets that UK authorities seized from an international fraud scheme. The Tianjin No.2 Intermediate People's Court accepted the confiscation application on September 28. The underlying fraud caused losses exceeding RMB 199.77 billion for more than 102,000 victims. The UK High Court ruled that Chinese law determines the proprietary rights claimed by victims, but no evidence establishing that law's content has yet been submitted. Interested parties have a six-month announcement period beginning October 13.
