Dogecoin is aiming to evolve from a meme coin into a payment system. The developers behind the MyDoge wallet and the DogeOS platform have joined forces to form Dogecoin Labs, with the goal of giving DOGE more real-world utility.
Plans include apps, games, and in-store payments, although much of the ecosystem is still under development.
Earlier, the MyDoge team launched the DogeOS testnet — a Layer 2 (L2) solution for Dogecoin featuring smart contracts and DeFi applications, with transaction fees paid in DOGE.
