12 companies following the Michael Saylor playbook reportedly dumping their $BTC holdings is definitely something worth watching. But I wouldn't automatically call it smart money abandoning Bitcoin. A lot of these companies entered the BTC treasury strategy hoping to replicate Strategy's success. The problem is that buying Bitcoin with borrowed money or newly issued shares works very differently when the market turns against you. If their stock trades below the value of their Bitcoin holdings, raising fresh capital becomes harder. Add debt repayments and pressure from shareholders, and suddenly selling BTC might be a balance sheet decision rather than a bearish market prediction. That's the distinction I'm watching. Are these companies selling because they believe Bitcoin has topped, or because their treasury strategy is no longer sustainable? For $BTC , the real concern is whether more corporate holders become forced sellers while institutional demand is weakening. If ETF inflows and spot buyers absorb that supply, the market could handle it without much damage. Saylor's strategy was never going to work equally well for everyone. The real test isn't who can accumulate Bitcoin during a bull market. It's who can afford to keep holding when things get ugly.
