A Revolut outage disrupted payments and account access on Tuesday, October 20, with more than 2,000 reports by 09:00 BST. Customers described declined cards, failed transfers and difficulty reaching support. The company confirmed problems across multiple services and said customer money and data remained safe while its teams worked to restore normal operations.
Revolut outage affects card payments and access to funds
The company’s service status page listed card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals and live support among services experiencing partial disruption. Users also reported problems opening the app or signing into their accounts.
Downdetector recorded more than 1,500 reports shortly after 08:00 BST, rising above 2,000 by 09:00. The increase shows a growing volume of complaints, rather than a verified count of everyone affected.
In the later reporting snapshot, around 63% of complaints concerned the app, while 20% involved transfers. Another 8% related to login difficulties, with the proportions changing as reports accumulated.
The Revolut outage also prompted complaints from customers unable to contact support while trying to access their balances. Service interruptions affected everyday banking functions, including paying merchants and withdrawing cash.
Revolut says money and data are safe as repairs continue
In its statement on X, the company said it had been working on the issue since identifying it that morning. It apologised to affected customers but provided no cause or firm restoration time in that update.
