Consider a regular transfer from another exchange into Kraken. The destination was saved once and gets reused. Later, you generate more Kraken addresses for the same coin. The saved entry at the sending exchange still points to the old address.

On Kraken's main website, creating more than five addresses for one cryptocurrency starts a seven-day expiry countdown on the oldest. That's an existing rule, and you can't choose a different address to expire.

For that regular transfer, compare the saved destination with Kraken's Manage deposit addresses page, where the remaining days are shown. If it points to an expiring address, replace the entry at the sending exchange before the next transfer. Kraken warns that deposits to an expired address are not guaranteed to be credited and may be permanently lost.
