South Korea Blocks 27 Exchanges: Time to Move Your $BTC?

South Korea just went full hammer mode on foreign exchanges.

Regulators are blocking access to 27 unregistered crypto platforms, including KuCoin, BitMart, and MEXC. They already restricted app downloads last year, but now they're shutting down website access directly - no court order needed.

If you're using these platforms, heads up: authorities warned it could be tough recovering funds if things go south. However, the FIU is working with industry group DAXA to help affected users withdraw their assets safely.

Why the sudden move? Over $110B in crypto left domestic exchanges last year as traders looked for looser rules. Now, Korea is tightening the leash to force compliance with local AML and security standards.

KuCoin says funds are safe and they're working on compliance, but if you're holding BTC or altcoins on unauthorized platforms, it's probably time to double-check registration or move your bags to cold storage!
