Bitcoin life insurer Meanwhile has raised $37.5 million from existing investors, co-founder and CEO Zachary Townsend said. According to ChainCatcher citing Axios, Bain Capital Crypto led the round, with participation from Haun Ventures, Framework, Pantera Capital, Digital Currents and Apollo Global.
The company said its total funding has now exceeded $180 million. The new capital will be used to meet demand for BTC life insurance from families in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Meanwhile launched its BTC Life 1-Pay product for customers outside the United States in early 2026. The product lets users pay premiums in bitcoin in a single payment and receive a guaranteed death benefit denominated in bitcoin for life. After the first year, policyholders can borrow up to 90% of the policy value with no repayment schedule.
Meanwhile said it has signed 15 brokers serving wealthy families across Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland, and expects premium revenue this year to more than double year over year.
