Polymarket airdrop hunters, this one's for you: no token was launched at TOKEN2049.

The build-up was loud. On Oct 4, CEO Shayne Coplan compared Polymarket's revenue to Hyperliquid's and teased that he "may have a little something to say" at TOKEN2049. A well-known crypto media founder then posted "POLY is coming". Timelines filled with airdrop farming guides.

What actually happened on stage on Oct 7:
- Coplan said Polymarket is exploring an onchain asset with "programmable utility", tied to the Polymarket economy.
- He called it "the way stocks should be".
- No name, no structure, no timeline, no airdrop details.

The official FAQ still says Polymarket hasn't announced any airdrop or token generation event. Earlier comments from its CMO about a POLY token and airdrop were made on a podcast, and the company has also said its priority is finishing the US relaunch.

So where does that leave farmers?
- Activity on Polymarket might matter later, or it might not. Nothing official says either way.
- "Exploring an asset" is not a token announcement. Plenty of teams tease for months.
- Any site or account offering a POLY claim right now is a scam until Polymarket says otherwise.

The fair read for bulls: a company comparing its revenue to Hyperliquid's and talking about "the way stocks should be" is clearly thinking about value accrual, not just a governance token.
