Tether and Kazakhstan Explore Tenge Stablecoin
Tether, Kazakhstan’s National Bank and the Alatau City Authority have signed an MoU to explore stablecoin development, RWA tokenization and DeFi activity.
The parties will study models for a potential tenge-pegged stablecoin, develop a framework for tokenizing real-world assets and run a pilot in Alatau City.
The agreement is exploratory and non-binding, with no stablecoin issuer, launch date or issuance commitment announced.
They will also conduct workshops and training for Kazakh regulators on stablecoins, reserves and RWA tokenization.
