Tonight Nonfarm, employment growth strong or not? I need to see where the job additions are concentrated.
Tonight at 20:30, the US September employment report will be released. How will $BTC و $ETH react? I’m more concerned with information that can be overlooked when looking only at the headline figure: are the new job gains broadly distributed, or concentrated in a handful of industries?
First, look at the background of the previous report: in August, Nonfarm added 162,000 jobs, including 59,000 added in restaurants and bars, and 42,000 in local government education. Together, those two categories added 101,000 jobs, about three-fifths of the total increase. The growth in local government education largely offset the decline from the prior month.
This isn’t tonight’s data, but it reminds me: even with a “pretty” total number, the underlying employment structure can differ greatly.
My view: if the September increase is concentrated in a few industries, I need to further verify whether there are special factors. If the growth spans more industries, then my assessment of employment resilience has stronger support.
Tonight I’ll cross-check two sets of information:
① whether the total number aligns with the industry distribution;
② whether changes in employment structure are consistent with reactions in the dollar, US Treasury yields, and BTC.
If the total number is strong, but the growth is concentrated while other industries remain weak, I won’t rush to interpret it as broadly strong. Conversely, wider industry coverage doesn’t necessarily mean the coin price must fall; it still depends on how the market adjusts rate expectations.
For BTC and ETH, what’s worth reading tonight is where the growth is coming from. The headline provides the numbers, and the body explains the quality of that growth.
