YIELDS ARE SURGING ACROSS MAJOR MARKETS.

U.S. 10-year Treasury yields have reached 5.34%, while the 30-year yield climbed above 5.68%, both at levels last seen around 2002. In the UK, the 30-year gilt yield reached 6% for the first time since 1998, while Japan’s 10-year yield hit 3.1%, its highest since 1996.

European yields are also moving higher, with France’s 10-year yield above 4.9% and Germany’s reaching 3.6%, its highest since 2009. At the same time, Brent crude has moved above $100 per barrel, adding another source of pressure to the global macro backdrop.

The combination of rising borrowing costs across major economies and elevated oil prices is putting renewed focus on inflation, bond markets and global liquidity.
