On September 24, 11 Democratic senators from the U.S. Senate Banking Committee are urging committee chairman Tim Scott to hold a hearing on the forecast market.
The committee plans to hold a forecasting market roundtable next week, attended only by Republican lawmakers. The roundtable will focus on the securities forecast market, and representative Kalshi is expected to attend.
At present, the main regulatory authority of the forecasting market belongs to the Senate Agriculture Committee and the Commodity Futures Trading Committee (CFTC).
