Hana Bank issued a $100 million digital bond through Euroclear’s blockchain settlement platform and completed the transaction the same day. The bank said it was the first Korean financial institution to directly use the international depository’s distributed ledger infrastructure. The issuance comes as South Korea prepares to introduce a comprehensive tokenized-securities framework in February 2027.
