Your First DEX Swap on TON: What You Should Check

Using a DEX for the first time can feel more complicated than it actually is.

The important part isn't just knowing where the Swap button is. It's knowing what you're agreeing to before you press it.

On a TON DEX such as $STON the basic process is:

Connect your TON wallet.

Choose the token you're sending.

Choose the token you want to receive.

Enter the amount.

Review the quote and transaction details.

Approve the transaction in your wallet.

Before confirming, pay attention to the numbers shown in the interface.

Expected output tells you roughly how much you'll receive.

Price impact shows how much your own trade affects the pool price. A larger trade relative to available liquidity can mean higher price impact.

Minimum received shows the lowest output amount allowed based on your slippage settings.

Blockchain fee is the network cost required to execute the transaction.

There's also one simple thing beginners sometimes forget:

Keep some native TON/Gram in your wallet for network fees. You don't want to use your entire balance for the swap and leave nothing for the transaction.

A DEX gives you direct, self-custodial access to swapping, but that also means you're responsible for checking the transaction before signing it.

Don't just ask, “What token am I buying?”

Ask:

“What exactly am I receiving, at what execution conditions, and what am I paying to get it?”
