Tesla Energy is now building a HUGE battery project in Belgium 🇧🇪
Construction has officially started on GREEN TURTLE:
• 640 Tesla Megapack 3 batteries
• 700 MW of power
• 2.8 GWh of storage
• ~4 hours at full output
• Direct connection to Belgium’s high-voltage grid
• Enough stored energy to roughly match the daily electricity use of 385,000 households
And Tesla’s role goes way beyond supplying the batteries
Tesla was selected as the EPC partner....meaning it is responsible for the engineering + construction of the project, supplying the Megapacks AND long-term maintenance
The project will use cobalt-free LFP batteries and is targeting commissioning by the end of March 2028
This is the part of Tesla Energy people still underestimate
Megapack is becoming actual grid infrastructure at gigawatt-hour scale
