Today, I spent some time cleaning up around Russey Keo Bridge in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I picked up plastic bottles, bags, and other rubbish around the riverside. It may look like a small action, but seeing how much waste can collect in one area reminded me that keeping our environment clean starts with each of us.
My hope is to see cleaner riversides, streets, and public spaces in Phnom Penh—not only on Environment Cleanup Day, but every day. We don't always need to do something big. Even picking up a few pieces of litter or simply choosing not to throw waste on the ground can make a difference.
